Moisturize your Face Daily

Perhaps the most important step of skin care is moisturizing.  Even if you have very oily skin a moisturizer can help bring balance and slow down your skin’s production of oil.  After cleansing your skin, it’s important to moisturize before you begin applying makeup.

Moisturizer helps to plump up your skin and gives you the best possible surface for makeup.  It will also help slow down aging and prevent wrinkles from popping up in the future.  Some moisturizers also fight the wrinkles that you already have.

Why you should Cleanse and Exfoliate

Before you even really begin to think about applying makeup to your face, it’s important that you prepare your skin properly.  Your skin is the canvas on which your makeup will be applied.  If it’s not in the best shape, your makeup won’t go on smoothly.

The first step is to cleanse your skin.  That helps to get rid of excess oil, old makeup, and helps get rid of the pollutants with which you come in contact.  It’s a good idea to cleanse your skin morning and night with a formula that’s right for your skin type.

Exfoliating is a process that removes dead skin cells. This should be done a couple of times a week with a product designed to exfoliate.  Some products are chemical exfoliants and use gentle acids to do the job.  Others are physical exfoliants that include microbeads to scrub off dead skin.

Learn how to apply makeup – even just the basics – for a more polished look

Would you want to walk down the street or stroll the mall with a poorly blended and off-colored match face? Would you be comfortable facing others – clients, friends, and strangers – when your face looks too shiny and there are dark circles and blemishes on your face? Obviously, you won’t.

These things can be avoided when you know how to prepare, start, and work on your makeup. If you don’t want to have these undesired results and if you don’t want uncomfortable scenarios, avoid going out when you know that you didn’t apply makeup the way it should be. You will either look like a zombie or look like a circus clown.

Before you apply makeup, make sure that you have already prepared yourself, your face, and your things. You have to know what’s best for you – there are so many products displayed in the market that you’ll get dizzy just by looking at it.

To help you with choosing the right product for you, figure out what’s the best one for you – it may not be effective for the others, but it is just perfect for you – because people vary in skin types and tones. Once you have settled on the right makeup for you, it’s now time to decide on what to do first – how will you apply makeup that will not ruin your face, your day, and your time.

Professional makeup artists vary on their recommendations on the first step – it is because the technique can only be mastered when you already know the occasion, the skin needs, and the desired results – it is your needs that will help you decide on what to do first.

Although the steps and application process vary depending on what the makeup is for, there’s a general procedure that most people practice – which is very practicable and reasonable. When you apply makeup, you have to apply the foundation first and then followed by the concealer.

The reason individuals commonly practice this step is the concept of: less is truly more. When you apply makeup in this sequence, it’s likely that you’ll use less makeup. It’s because the rest of the makeup application is powder-based. The foundation and concealer will work as the base where the other powder products will hold or cling to.

Careful and meticulous observation must be done when you apply makeup products on your delicate facial skin. Here are some simple steps on how to proceed. Choose the right foundation for your skin type – it must be appropriate to your skin tone. The foundation must be evenly spread on the face – and because there are a variety of facial needs, the range in how much one applies also differs.

Applying a concealer is somehow the same as applying a foundation, the difference is that a concealer covers the facial blemishes. After this, use a large powder brush to evenly scatter the powder on the contours of the faces. Then, you can follow the rest of the makeup application.

“Ladies, you know how wrinkles gives us “character?”

How would you like to have people tell you that you do not look your age? This happens to me ALL the time.
I remember going out for lunch with a good friend at one of my favorite Cajun restaurants back home in Kansas City, Mo. In walked a former classmate who recognized my face and asked “are you Anna White or are you some kin to her”? Before I could answer she interjected and said, “You sure look like her.   But, she is in her 60s and you look like you are in your late 40’s or early 50’s... “

At first I didn’t want to respond; however,  my friend who was with me answered for me….Don’t ask me why I felt embarrassed after my friend confirmed that it was indeed me, alive and in living color. Her mouth flew opened and she just stood there and stared at me in amazement.

After her initial shock she said loudly, “YOU LOOK SO GOOD! What the heck are you doing to maintain your smooth wrinkle free pretty skin?”

Mary Kay® Ultimate Mascara™

I have been looking all over for a true voluminous mascara that actually does work. I have very thin and fine lashes and they aren't going to get any thicker! I rely on the mascara I use to make my eyes pop. I have tried many other brands before a friend recommended that I try Mary Kay's Ultimate mascara. I used to use Mary Kay's make-up years ago and had no idea they were still around! Anyways, I got it and with the first application I was blown away! Not only did my eyelashes appear longer, but they looked so darn thick! I did two applications and wore it all day to work and never had an issue with flakes falling on my cheeks or raccoon eyes happening. I have had many compliments and people asking if I was wearing fake eyelashes! That says a lot coming from a mascara and on someone who has fine and short eyelashes. Buy this one and you will not be disappointed. I am in love with it!

About Beauty and Make Up

A long time ago, I used to spend my cash on hair appointments and beauty products. It was to the point that I'd have 10 different mascaras, about 20 different shades of eye shadows and commonly 4 different foundations at a time. I might have easily been named as a beauty product addict. Not only did I not require all of these products but I couldn’t even use them up before they were no longer good.

Today I keep things simple. This helps keep things fresh, and I can update with fresh shades in trend and also help out the family budget by having some good basic info.
Anna Perkins

It's easy to jam your cosmetic bag with things you believe you have to have, however one thing we seem to forget is the basics. If you don't attend to your skin no amount of expensive make-up will help make you look unflawed. Begin from the basic skincare products like exfoliates and cleansers. An exceptional moisturizer is a must. In addition to that, if you plan to put make-up on, don't blank out taking it off. A gentle make-up remover, particularly an eye make-up remover is suggested.

Likewise, purchase little product sizes or trial sizes when you are able to. This will let you try the product on and see if it matches with your skin, and you are able to easily substitute it without dropping a lot of cash. I particularly abide by this rule when it comes to cleansers, moisturizers and make-up removers. Anything that annoys my skin is directly removed as it's too harsh and isn't well-matched with my sensitive skin.

I know, I understand, beauty is superficial. However still, looking great makes me feel great. I get a total feeling of self-assurance when I look great. Dressing up appears to put me in a great mood contrary to those scrubbed out, gloomy, pessimistic days. In my judgment, if what's on the outside looks even as great as what's on the inside, it will be almost effortless for your glowing personality to come out and for the world to see just how amazing you truly are.
